World Languages

Math

ALEKS is a web-based program created through funding by The National Science Foundation. This program assesses and analyzes student knowledge of mathematics or chemistry before offering individualized lessons to provide only what the student is ready to learn.  From this beginning, student mastery spirals and grows helping students to feel confident about their math or chemistry courses.  All courses are aligned with the California State Standards.  Over 30 courses are available covering grades 3 - 12, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2/Trig, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.

Science / Social Studies / Language Arts / Math

Discovery Education - engaging video lessons for all grade levels.

Valley Center Prep high school students may choose, with teacher approval,  to enroll concurrently at one of the local colleges in order to broaden their education experience.  Units earned are posted to a student's high school transcript as well as the college transcript.  Students are required to obtain approval from their supervising teacher before starting the course and are responsible for their own materials and fees.

Palomar College

Palomar College offers a variety of distance learning courses.  Please see their website and/or catalog for current offerings. Students are required to obtain approval from their supervising teacher before starting the course.
